The Pledge of Allegiance Next
The Pledge of Allegiance is a promise of loyalty to the flag and the country of the United States of America. It was written by Francis Bellamy in 1892 and formally adopted by Congress as the pledge in 1942. All meetings of Congress and local government meetings open with the pledge of allegiance. When reciting the pledge one should stand at attention, face the flag with your right hand over your heart.
